The Chairish "Design Your Future" Scholarship: Award amount: $5,000: This scholarship is designed to support students from diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields. It is open to high school seniors, undergrads, and graduate students enrolled (or planning to enroll) at a 2- or 4-year college/university.
Heisman High School Scholarships: Award amount: $1,000 to $10,000: The Heisman High School Scholarship continues a 28-year tradition of honoring high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all.
Trimble High School Class of 2002 Alumni Scholarship: This is for Trimble students only! Requirements: Student is looking to continue their education at a college/university or technical school, student has a minimum 3.0 GPA and have also completed volunteer hours in the Trimble Township. Rio Grande Red Storm Scholarship: If you are planning to attend Rio Grande then this scholarship is for you! Rio Grande offers more than 300 scholarship opportunities to support students in their educational endeavors. Many of these scholarships are provided through the kindness of Alumni and Friends of the university. Students can to apply for these opportunities through the beginning of Fall semester. However, priority will be given to those students who apply before the Priority Filing Deadline. Submitting an application does not guarantee a student will receive a scholarship. OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program: OhioHealth is proud to partner with our local high schools to offer the OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program to graduating seniors. This program is designed to raise awareness of healthcare’s workforce critical need roles, make available the opportunity for high school graduates to pursue these careers for little to no out-of-pocket cost, and provide a pathway to a healthcare career. Students selected for the OhioHealth Healthcare Scholars Program will be hired as an OhioHealth associates for a part-time entry-level position. Partners for Automated Vehicle Education (PAVE) just launched an essay contest and scholarship program, which encourages high school juniors and seniors to contemplate a future with automated vehicles – and write about what this could mean for their communities. Three geographically diverse U.S. locations will hold this first annual contest, and we are excited to announce that one of the locations is Southeast Ohio, specifically Athens and Vinton counties. The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) is a $40,000 scholarship program ($10K per year, for four years) for students who plan to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs.) The American Chemistry Council has partnered alongside HBCU Week Foundation, American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and Chemours to make the program possible. In addition to the scholarship, students will gain leadership development, mentoring and internship opportunities with program sponsors and access to AIChE student networking events. 2023 Hocking County 4-H Scholarship for Graduating Seniors: The requirements for this scholarship are (1) to be a graduating senior as of the calendar year the application (PDF form ) is made. (2) Have completed at least five years in Hocking County 4-H and be a current (2023) 4-H member. (3) Scholarship must be used in the next academic year (2023-2024). Printed copies of this application will be available in room 508 in the Porter Building. This application is due to be submitted by 4 PM on February 24, 2023.
The Atomic Credit Union Scholarship has been established to recognize and assist students in need at high schools with student-run credit union branches, including Career Technology Centers, who desire to further their education. Scholarships in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) will be awarded and disbursed among our participating student run high schools. Additionally, two scholarships in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) will be awarded to our membership at large. The applicant must be a 2023 graduating senior of a high school or technical school and have plans to enroll or be currently enrolled in an accredited school of higher education as a full-time student in the summer or fall of 2023. The applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The applicant (student) must be a current member of Atomic Credit Union with the account being opened no later than December 31st, 2022. The Harry B. Crewson Freshman Scholarship provides three $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to attend Ohio University through an endowment with the Ohio University Foundation. The Nelsonville Rotary Scholarship for undergraduate study, available to one student graduating from Nelsonville-York and one student graduating from Tri-County Career Center. The purpose of the scholarship program is to identify young people who have demonstrated leadership skills or show potential to be leaders and provide a chance to explore and develop those skills with others of similar capabilities. The E.B. Miller Memorial Scholarship This program offers financial assistance to students pursuing a forest resource education. Currently, one or more scholarships are offered each year to Ohio high school graduates who have been accepted into an approved university, college, junior college or technical university offering a forest resource curriculum. The Ohio Gas Association Scholarship Scholarships are limited to undergraduate college studies, technical or trade school programs. Must have a career goal in the natural gas or related energy field. David V. Stivison Scholarship (COAD) To be eligible for this scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria: 1. Be a resident of the 30-county COAD service area for at least one year before the application deadline. 2. Reside in a household with a total annual income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. 3. Have obtained or will obtain a high school degree or GED. 4. Show proof of acceptance by an accredited 2-year or 4-¬year institution of higher education. Applications must be submitted to the appropriate COAD-member Community Action Agency that serves the county where the applicant resides. A directory of participating Community Action Agencies and the thirty counties they serve can be found on COAD’s website. Application forms can be found on the website linked above. Delta Kappa Gamma Grant in Aid Scholarship Delta Kappa Gamma-Gamma Sigma Chapter of Perry County has a mission to promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. One of the ways the chapter seeks to fulfill that mission is through their annual $500 Grant-In-Aid scholarship to a female Perry county student who is pursuing a career in education. Tomcat Bridge Builders Scholarship The following scholarship is for Trimble high school graduating seniors. Applicants will need to fill out the form linked above and complete a 500 word essay on why you choose to live drug-free. A recommendation letter and transcript are also required. NHS Alumni Scholarship The following scholarship is for current Nelsonville high school seniors only. Following the last graduation in 1967, NHS merged with York High School to form Nelsonville-York Schools. An NHS alumni event is hosted on Memorial Day weekend. The NHS Alumni Scholarship Fund preserves the spirit and traditions of NHS by building a strong foundation of scholarship support for Nelsonville-York High School graduates. Les Best Dependents College/Vocational Scholarship For OCSEA members’ dependents who are undergraduate students entering or already enrolled full-time in a college or university; or students entering or enrolled full-time in a vocational, trade or technical school or a union apprenticeship. Four $2,000 awards OR three $2,000 awards and two $1,000 awards for the 2023/2024 school year, beginning in the fall. Applicants can apply in one category(member, spouse or dependent) for the Les Best Scholarship. Applications in more than one category will not be accepted. Deadline: April 30th
Ohio Masonic Scholarship This scholarship is for individuals who have a Masonic Membership, or affiliation by establishing that the applicant or the applicant's father, step-father, grandfather, or step-grandfather is in good standing or was a Mason in good standing at the time of death of a body recognized by the Grand Lodges of F.&A.M. of Ohio including but not limited to, Blue Lodges and Prince Hall Lodges in Ohio. Dawn Mingus Reynolds Memorial Nursing Scholarship Applicant must be enrolled in a “full-time” (minimum of 12 credit hours per grade period), state-accredited Nursing Program and reside in Athens County, Ohio. Scholarship application will require an attached written statement describing educational goals and other relevant information. The deadline for this scholarship is May 31st for the following academic year.
Rocky Community Improvement Fund Scholarship The Rocky Community Improvement Fund (RCIF) was created as a way for employees of Rocky Brands, Inc. to become more involved within the community while helping to enhance the quality of life for the people of Nelsonville and surrounding areas. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements: GPA of 3.0 or better. Athens Soil and Water Conservation District Scholarship This scholarship is available for seniors enrolled in a high school within Athens county. The Athens Soil and Water Conservation District is offering an opportunity for college bound agriculture or natural resource students to move toward their career goals. Applicants must plan to enroll in a college that offers a major related to agriculture/natural resources. Applications are due by March 31st.
Park Foundation Scholarship Applicant must be a graduating Senior of Miller High School. Two recommendation letters must be included with the application form. An official high school transcript is also required. Applications need to be received on or post marked by May 1st.
The MacGahan Foundation Scholarship The MacGahan American-Bulgarian Foundation annually awards two scholarships to two residents of Perry county and one to a resident of Bulgaria in honor of Januarius MacGahan. Applicants must complete the form linked above with a high school transcript by April 28th.
Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund Scholarship Applicant must be a graduating senior from Miller High School. Applicant must have been enrolled in M.H.S. prior to the first day of November of their 11th grade year and they must maintain continuous enrollment at Miller until graduated. The postmark deadline for the application is April 15th.
Ben and Alyce Shaver Scholarship Must be a graduating senior of Miller High School with a 2.75 GPA or above. Other requirements and application instructions are on the application form linked above. The postmark deadline for this scholarship is April 15th.
Ohio Educational Support Group Scholarship Open to any Ohio 1st year accredited colleges or universities, community colleges and trade school students. Applications must be submitted to P.O. Box 246 Albany Ohio 4571 no later than May 1st. Applications may be handwritten or typed.
Dixon Asphalt Scholarship This scholarship consists of two $500 scholarships to students in the Trimble school district. Applicants should be pursuing a career in a trade or wanting to start up their own trade business. Completed applications should be emailed to admin@dixonasphalt.com by May 1st.
James and Martha Bratton Scholarship The James and Martha Bratton scholarship will be awarded annually to a student attending or planning to attend a college or technical school. The amount of the scholarship will not exceed $2,000. Applications must be postmarked by April 19th or dropped off to the address listed on the application form by 5pm Monday, April 24th.
Perry County Community Club Scholarship will award a $1000 scholarship to a college bound student who through volunteerism, philanthropy, or a service learning project, displays a sense of civic engagement and community service. Applicants must be a senior residing in Perry County and attending a Perry County high school. Please see application form for other requirements. The application is due by April 30th.
