Animal Science - New in 2025!

Program Description

The Tri-County Career Center's two-year Animal Science program provides a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing careers related to animals. This program focuses on key areas such as Animal Care and Management, including proper handling and husbandry techniques for various species. Students will gain knowledge in Nutrition, ensuring animals receive balanced diets for optimal health. The curriculum also covers Disease and prevention, equipping students with the ability to recognize and address common animal health issues.

Furthermore, the program explores Animal Health (Vet Science), including basic veterinary procedures and understanding animal behavior. Students will learn about Population control and reproduction, including responsible breeding practices. The program also delves into Genetics and its impact on animal traits. Finally, students will gain insights into the broader context of the animal industry, including the production of Food and animal byproducts.
