Driver Ed

Update as of October 23, 2025
We have reopened registration for Under Age 21 Community Students. Please use our registration links below to sign up.
Each month we will allow a controlled number of registrants from the community for driver education.
This number will be based on the number of TCCC students registered, including the number of Seniors needing driver education before graduation.
Please call the office if you have questions.
Tri-County Driver Education offers driver training to students under the age of 21 and to adults through licensing with the Ohio Dept. of Public Safety, Driver Training Office. We service Tri-County students in Nelsonville, along with Trimble Local High School students, and Federal Hocking Local High School students at their high school locations, as well as all surrounding community members for driving instruction.
We use an online 3rd party provider, 2Cool Driving School for the 24-hour teen course, and once completed successfully, then the 8-hour behind-the-wheel can be completed at one of our three locations, depending on your student's home high school. All three of these schools have funding in place to offer driver education requirements for a $50 family commitment fee. We also have online courses available for Adults in need of specific, such as Abbreviated Adult, Adult Remedial, Limited Term License, and Adult 24-hour online courses as well.
Throughout this process that begins at age 151/2 with the temporary driving permit, please remember to drive with your family (50-hour family drive time is required by the State, 40 during the day, 10 at night) in many varying locations giving them the best experience in a multitude of situations. Our trainees need to have about half, or 25 hours of family drive time completed before we schedule them in the car with our licensed driving instructors. If you have questions, please contact us either by phone or email below.
