Driver Education
Tri-County Driver Education offers teen driver training, and adult driver training through licensing with the Ohio Dept. of Public Safety, Driver Training Office. We service Tri-County students in Nelsonville, along with Trimble Local High School students, and Federal Hocking Local High School students at their high school locations, as well as all surrounding community members for driving instruction.
We use an online 3rd party provider, 2Cool Driving School for the 24-hour teen course, and once completed successfully, then the 8-hour behind-the-wheel can be completed at one of our three locations, depending on your teen's home high school. All three of these schools have funding in place to offer driver education requirements for a $50 family commitment fee. We also have online courses available for Adults in need of specific, such as Abbreviated Adult and Adult Remedial Driving courses as well.
Throughout this process that begins at age 151/2 with the temporary driving permit, please remember to drive with your teen (50-hour family drive time is required by the State, 40 during the day, 10 at night) in many varying locations giving them the best experience in a multitude of situations. Our trainees need to have about half, or 25 hours of family drive time completed before we schedule them in the car with our licensed driving instructors. If you have questions, please contact us either by phone or email below.
