Professional Certifications and Industry Credentials
Students may have the opportunity for:
- D1.1 3/8" AWS Structural Steel Certifications
- D9.1 Sheet Metal Certifications
In addition, successful students will earn the following certifications:
- OHSA-10 Certification
- ACT National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
Career Opportunities
Welders are in big demand in a number of fields including manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, and heavy equipment. Welding occupations include fabricators, pipe welders, bridge welders, and structural welders.
Wages vary, but the average hourly wage is $12 to $17 starting out.
